Warning: This post is LONG!

Finally getting around to posting about Father's Day. Tyson has been picking up overtime shifts at Riverton Hospital on the weekends. So that's where he spent the actual Father's day. We got him some salami (which he is semi-obsessed with) and some Nutella which he has apparently been craving since his mission. He also got a new planner since he lost his other one shortly after he got it- we'll see how long this one lasts:)
Impossible for all three boys to smile at once.
Last Monday we had a Father's Day BBQ with Tyson's family. We had steak, crab, and salmon. Easton LOVED the crab. I'll never understand.

Great Grandma and Grandpa Page got some baby time.
Four Generations
We were finally able to celebrate Father's Day with my dad this past weekend. Kelsey made him this apron that says, "I turn grills on." Haha.
On Saturday I worked all day and then we headed up the canyon for a campfire with some friends! Tyson had fun taking pictures of the fire and the sun.

The guys played some frisby.
Easton and Luke ran up and down the hills. They had a hard time stopping on the way down sometimes. Easton got all kinds of scratched up and after about 10 minutes Jana and I were wondering how many times we would have to say, "Jump up. You're ok!"
We had hot dogs and s'mores.
Casey serenaded us with his guitar and we tried desperately to get Easton to show off some of his songs, but he decided to be a stinker. He would replace all the words with donk or donkey just to get a laugh.

And our family - this picture supports my theory that blue eyes are about 50 times more prone to red eye.
Shawn and Jana were there with their 2 kiddos, but I guess you can't drag pictures off of Facebook. Callan and baby Crew shared the play pen and Easton and Luke played till they crashed. Easton randomly asked if he could go to the car and sleep. So we made him a bed in the back of the Jeep and he laid down. He asked us to close the back door and he fell sound asleep! It was so weird!

And now the reason why I have been slacking on blogging...

We have been sooooo busy getting ready to move into our new house!
I guess nothing with home-buying is guaranteed, but we're pretty sure we're going to get it. We've been told we could close in as little as two days, however the current tenants are renting the home and they are under a Utah Housing Assistance program and can't be kicked out until August 1st. So we wait. And while we are waiting we are moving in with my parents! We are pretty much moved in with them now. We've been sleeping here for a few nights while we are still packing over there. We have a portable storage unit coming today so we're excited to load it up and move out!

The boys have had a lot of fun just hanging out with aunties.
Yesterday they picked a whole bunch of strawberries and grandma made a yummy pie!

Looking forward to getting this week over with!

We LOVE summer!

We are having so much fun spending time over at "Auntie's Home" this summer!

Sundays...

And every other day! Sometimes we even forget the swimsuit... and we don't care!

Happy Summer!

Purple

Have you ever taken the Color Code test? I've taken it a few times in high school and college and always get the same result: 50% red, 50% blue. I guess I get this from my mom, but I'm a firm believer in the color code. It accounts for my wanting to be in control of everything all the time as well as my extreme guilt issues when things don't go the way I plan.

Last night was a pretty good expression of both my red and blue sides. We had our ward BBQ from 6-9. Tyson had school and wouldn't be able to be there until 7. I had had a pretty good day with the kids and felt like I was handling everything great and could go to the BBQ without Tyson. Easton and I were starving so I though we would just go and get our food and Tyson would be there before we knew it. So we get to the pavilion and get find a place to set Callan's carseat. We got our buns ready for our hotdogs and hamburger and got all our fruit and dessert, but the line for the meat was HUGE. So I sat Easton down with the fruit thinking he would sit there and be good. But no. I got in the meat line and the next thing I know, Easton had run probably a half a mile away back to the parking lot. I asked my sweet neighbor, Linda, to hold my buns (lol) and ran after Easton. I begged him to stay close by me, but he ran away over and over again. One time he even crossed a street and ran completely out of the park. I was extremely mad and so embarrassed that I couldn't control him! By this time, Callan had started crying in his carseat and another lady from the ward was holding him and taking care of her own kids and trying to eat her food at the same time. I would guess I had run about 2 miles chasing Easton so I finally decided to just hold Easton in the meat line where he proceeded to bite me repeatedly on the shoulder (so hard I have a bruise this morning). Linda told me to go sit down with him and she would get my food. Thank heavens. So I sat with Easton and tried to talk to him and keep positive. Every time someone from the ward came up to talk to me, Easton would take the opportunity to run off. It literally took about a half hour to get the meat. By the time Tyson got there I was DONE. I told Tyson to hurry and get some food so we could go home.

I wanted to punish Easton by taking him home and he missed out on the train ride and all the other games they had planned. Only problem is, he didn't know and could have cared less. I felt like a terrible parent! When we pulled in the driveway Easton took Callan's binky and started sucking on it which he is told over and over again not to do. He just blatantly disobeys! He does it on purpose and it drives me insane! I didn't even turn off the car I was so mad. I took him in and put is PJs on, told him I loved him and goodnight. Then I had a little breakdown to say the least.

Tyson and I talked and decided to go in and try to talk to Easton. The conversation went a little bit like this...
"Easton, mommy and daddy love you."

"I know."

"And we just want you to obey."

"No. I do things by myself all the time cuz I'm a big boy."

"We try to teach you to obey so you can be safe. You ran into the road and you could have gotten hit by a car."

"Ok. Let's pretend this is a car (foot) and this is a road (other foot) and this can be a wall (book)."

HE DOESN'T CARE AT ALL! NO FORM OF DISCIPLINE WORKS ON THIS CHILD!

So...I have resorted to cracking open a book for the first time in five years. That's right people. I haven't read a book since high school. My friend, Lisa, brought me this book a while ago and swears by it (even though she doesn't have any kids:)

I've read the first three chapters. So far, it makes sense. We'll see if it does any good.

P.S. I know- 2 posts in one day? It probably looks like I have a lot of time on my hands - but really I'm just putting off all the things I don't want to do:)

Roly Poly Bug

I feel like Callan has grown up so much this week! Ok so the above picture was a fluke-he can't really sit up, but last weekend I was saying how I feel so bad for him because I feel like his body and his brain are developing at slightly different rates because of his prematurity. For example, I know he is teething and wants to pull things up to his mouth but he can't even hold on to something at 4.5 months. If I got him a teething ring I would have to hold it in his mouth for him. Then suddenly in the last 2 days he started holding on to things!

Then I was reading my friend's blog about her 2 month old that can roll over. Hmmmm I had never even thought of that as something Callan should be doing. I thought there's no way he could roll over especially because he is never set down on the floor- danger zone! Easton would smash him for sure. He is always in the playpen on the boppy, in the high chair, or propped up in the couch corner.

He sleeps on his stomach-don't hate me. It's the only way he can sleep-and he sleeps great. Well out of nowhere I go in to check on him yesterday and he's on his side! Then last night in his sleep...

I had to wake up 20 times to flip him from his back to his belly! He was like a roly poly. He hates being on his back! He would roll over and get stuck there and cry until I flipped him over. So far I'm not liking it!

Also, he can cover some ground in that crib. He always starts out in the middle and ends up crying with his head smashed in a corner. In one corner of his crib I have a push light that I got when we first brought him home so I could see if he was blue.

Last night I found him laying on it like a pillow. He had turned it on with his face. Lol.

"The Goon"

We went to Lagoon Friday for my dad's work party. I drove there with Kelsey, Cassidy, Kennedi, Collette, Kristen, and Easton. We started out at Lagoon A Beach which we had never done before. I would say it was a little bit of a disappointment. Not to be negative, but you could only go on one slide without renting a tube, Easton couldn't ride on any slides on my lap, and he wasn't allowed to wear his life jacket on any slides. So pretty much all he could do was splash his feet in the kiddie pool.
After Lagoon A Beach, Kennedi had to go to a dance recital so my mom came and switched me Kennedi for Callan. Really not trying to be negative here, but it was SO CROWDED and so hard to steer a stroller anywhere. The lines for all the rides in the kiddie land were unreal. We waited in line for the kid boats for over 20 minutes before ditching because we were still only half way there. So Easton didn't really get to do much, but he had fun.

He LOVED the bumper cars. Every time he turned toward the mirror he would make I'm so cool faces at himself.
He chose to ride in the Ladybug in this ride, much to his dad's dismay:) It went around in circles a little faster than we expected and he looked like he was going to puke the whole time! Thank heavens he didn't.
My dad and Tyson met us there after work. I found a place to nurse Callan in the park while the crew waited in line for Rattlesnake Rapids and met up with them just in time to snap some pictures.
I strategically packed Easton's rain jacket for rides like this because if you know Easton, you know he hates to have one single drop of water on him. He HAS to take of his clothes if they get wet. In fact, when we were done at Lagoon A Beach he just dropped his swim suit right out in the open air of the park cuz he couldn't stand to wear it wet. So I thought it would be a good idea to make him wear his jacket. Worked like a charm.
After this we ate hamburgers and hot dogs with the work people and my dad showed Callan off. Then we met up with our cousins who happened to be there that day and waited forever to ride the train together. Andrea, you'll have to get me this pictures of this part:)

I wanted to go on one roller-coaster after being the designated stroller pusher all day. I didn't really care which one we went on, but Kelsey wanted to go on Wicked. The line was HUGE and I felt bad leaving my wild kids with everyone (wait, only one kid is wild, but he's wild enough for the both of them) so Tyson and I did Colossus instead. This is the part where I decided I'm getting old. The roller coaster made me SO SICK! I really thought I was going to throw up at one point in the ride and I was nauseous for about 3 hours afterward.

Kelsey and Leslie stuck it out in the line for Wicked. We waited for them for an extra 40 minutes after Tyson and I had finished Colossus so Tyson wanted to catch a picture of them.
While we were on the ride Cassidy took Easton to see the kangaroos and they found this big flower - which reminds me... Easton totally has my allergies. I've been giving him some Zyrtec every night and it seems to be helping. His eyes have been totally green and goopy so I tried putting some Zaditor eye drops in his eyes for this trip and I think they worked wonders. The bad news is, I don't think he'll ever let me do that again.
We had a fun time! Thanks for working, dad!

Daily Dose of Easton

Easton has said some funny things today. (Surprise surprise).

While we were sitting on the couch watching TV this morning he poked Callan and I asked him not to do it again. He said, "mom I'm such a mean boy." It turned into this long conversation about him telling me how he's such a mean boy and has such a hard time being nice and is just mean to everyone and me telling him that everyone has a hard time sometimes and that's why we can always say sorry and try again. It kind of made me sad - he's such a tender soul. This isn't really the first time he's expressed this. A few weeks ago I asked him how nursery was and he said, "I just took a toy away from all the kids. My teacher told me I'm a nice boy, but I'm not. I'm a mean boy and I always take things away from everyone." So sad!

We went over to my mom's house fairly early this morning and I told him that today was aunties last day of school and then they don't have school during summer.
East: "but it's summer right now."
Me: "Well I know, but their teachers said they have to come to school for one more day today. And then they can be done for the summer."
East: "I don't like that! That's not a good idea! I'm going to get my sword and get in Aunt Kate's new car and drive to their school and climb up on the rocks and run across the road and go into their school and cut Collette's teacher in half!"

Every day, sometime between noon and 2, I drive around so that Easton will fall asleep for his nap. I know it might seem a little extreme to drop everything and drive, but it's so worth it! I just drive for 10-15 minutes, come home and lay him on his bed, and he's out for a couple hours! It seems like every time we drive the Katy Perry song E.T. is on. The other day Easton heard the line, You're so supersonic. Wanna feel your power - stun me with your laser and he yelled out, "Mom! That girl is singing about lasers! Just like Buzz!"

Today during the naptime drive I took away the little glow stick sword he was playing with so he would fall asleep. Kennedi had gotten it at a school thing today and gave it to him. When I took it away he said, "Mom I need that sword. Do you know that sword is special? Do you know that that sword is EXPENSIVE?"

Park City!

We have been looking forward to this trip for so long! I'm sad that it's over! We usually go to Lake Powell with the Page family every year, but with the babies this year we decided it would be easier to do a Park City getaway instead. It was so nice to check out of reality for a few days and just enjoy ourselves!

The cousins bonded...

We swam in the hotel pool...

We did the Alpine Slide...

{Easton is perfecting his Flynn Rider smolder}
And we shopped till we dropped! We are going to be all set for clothes this summer! We found some great deals. Tyson got a great deal on a coat from PacSun that I don't think he's even taken off since he bought it - even though it's finally reached 80 degrees - hello summer! And my favorite purchase has been my Croc flipflops. They are so comfy!

Callan didn't really need any clothes, but sometimes I just couldn't resist buying matching outfits! I think I might have the cutest boys ever!
Thanks Steve and Arlene for the fun trip! I have the best in-laws!
