Use Your Noodle

My mom gave me her old noodle maker so we decided to try it out today. I used to help my mom make noodles when I was little, but it wasn't as easy as I remembered. I'm so glad Tyson was home to help me. You make the dough and then you feed it through the machine 7 times making it thinner and thinner.

My mom always hung each piece on towels on chairs so that's what I did.
Then once it's thin enough you hook on another attachment and feed it through to make noodles!

Easton didn't like that the noodles were taking up all our attention.

And here's the finished product. Not too bad for our first time.

Making noodles was a lot harder than I remembered and took over an hour! I think I'll try making them again when I have 3 or 4 more helpers like my mom had. Oh and maybe a MIXER!

Birchcreek

Yesterday we went up to my family's cabin in Birchcreek, Idaho. Easton did really well in the car considering it was 4 and 1/2 hours each way! We went up to help with a cabin clean-up day and also had a bridal shower for Kelsey. Tyson and my uncles chopped tons of firewood.

Everyone helped carry it into the new shed that my Uncle Austin built.

Tyson brought a couple guns and Kennedi learned how to shoot the 22.

Easton's Great-Great Grandma Manning owns the ranch. She's 93 and looks geat!

Thanks Aspen for letting Easton borrow your stroller! He really needed a nap!

We also stopped at 2 cemetaries to put flowers on some grandparents' graves.

Then we packed up and went home! It was a quick fun trip!

Marshmallow Mateys and Cream of Mushroom

How's that for a midnight snack? Ok so it was more like 4 in the morning. Easton's been sick with a little virus. He just has a fever and does not want to sleep at night. In the day he is just tired and grumpy. So last night he woke up at about midnight and of course I was worried about him so we brought him in to sleep in between. Around 2 I woke up to being slapped in the face and hearing, "da da da da da da." Easton was WIDE awake for the next 2 hours. I'm thankful to have a hubby who would get up with me and watch a PBS Michael Angelo special and eat cereal and soup (bet you can guess who ate what) until Easton remembered it was night time. And it's a good thing we can laugh about being completely sleep deprived! This kid's worth it.

Weekend Fun

We had a pretty busy weekend. On Friday my mom babysat Easton as usual and I went to pick him up in Sandy. Then we went to my cousin's house in Lehi and had a little family get together to visit some cousins who were in from Washington D.C. It's actually my mom's cousin Valerie and her son Karston who is 8 months old. Here are Easton and Karston with Grandma Manning. Karston is a great grandson to Grandma Manning and Easton is a great-great grandson.

Unfortunately on the way home from Lehi, they were doing bridge construction on the freeway and I got stuck in Springville for an hour. I got home late and Tyson helped me make the food for Kelsey's bridal shower which was Saturday. We finished making food and crawled into bed around 1:00 AM. Just then Easton woke up...and stayed up until 8:00. So Tyson made me a very early morning birthday breakfast that was delicious.

And we did some laundry and house cleaning and got ready for the day. We all got to take a nap from 8-10 AM.

My dad watched Easton during the shower. He wouldn't have it any other way.

After the shower we went to dinner with Kelsey and Danny to Texas Roadhouse in Sandy. They had delicious rolls with cinnamon butter and we all enjoyed our steaks. At one point we thought we could actually hear Tyson's prime rib "moo-ing."

Then we went back to my parents' house and I opened some presents. I got a new dress, serving dish, jeans and some other clothes, flip flops, a book, and of course a trophy from Kelsey and Danny. I also got a bag and some money from Steve and Arlene and my grandma. I'm going to buy a new temple dress with the money. Thanks everyone!
