Recent Happenings

Tyson's last rotation sucked.  We'll just go ahead and put it that way.  He worked his 40 free hours a week and worked for pay at night and had SO MUCH to do at home.  I don't understand how they could possibly give him so many assignments and presentations, but whatever.  I'm not bitter.

The boys ate up all the time they could get with him!
Last weekend we made a surprise visit to Grandma Allen to celebrate her 70th birthday!  Her whole posterity sent me pictures and letters to put together in a book for her.  It turned out really fun!  So glad we could run up and visit!

Fun times with cousins while mom was at work!

On Monday I had a Dr.s appointment.  I had to have a glucose test, TDAP, and flu shot.  I was definitely sufficiently poked!  Throughout the pregnancy I have been taking progesterone shots to prevent preterm labor.  The first few weeks weren't bad, but then I seemed to develop a reaction and it kept getting worse and worse.  I called the pharmacy and they tried making me some in sesame oil instead of castor oil.  I tried that for a couple weeks and the reaction lasted like 3 days instead of 5 but it still caused a giant 6-8 inch painful and itchy welt.  I got to a point where I just couldn't take it anymore!  I finally took a picture of my swollen bottom to show my doctor.  Since my shots are on Tuesdays and my appointments are on Mondays I could never show her!  She said I am probably allergic to that type of progesterone and if I continue the shots I could end up in the hospital in anaphylactic shock!  I was so relieved when she said I didn't have to do them anymore!  We are trying a different method of progesterone now and it is so much better!

I could tell I was coming down with a cold Monday, but Tuesday I was full blown sick!  We had plans to go to Tracy Aviary and Easton could not let that go!  I was really miserable the whole time, but the boys seemed to enjoy it!

Cranes!
The boys went to the dentist and Callan had 3 cavities!  What?!  I can't say I'm really too careful with their teeth because we've never had a problem before!  I guess Callan has mom's bad genes!
Easton has dad's perfect teeth!

It has finally been cold this week!  Wednesday was freezing and since I've been sick and pretty much worthless, we all snuggled up and watched the Grinch.  I can't wait for Christmas!

I had to work Saturday so the boys got to play at Grandma and Grandpa Cooks'.  They even got to spend time in grandpa's "hot-gog gailor."  Ya, my dad sells hotdogs.  I think it's somewhat of a midlife crisis, but I hear they're really good!  #slcfranks
These boys have been so stinking cute lately.  I'm so lucky to be their mom:)

Duck Dynasty

Tyson and Casey have spent a lot of time turning Tyson's tin boat into a duck blind.  I think they're crazy!

Luckily when Tyson goes to work on it, he takes the boys to play so I get some down time:)
Easton and Callan love playing with Ace and Van!

Tyson is so excited for the opening of the hunt this weekend!

Labor Day

We hurried down from Park City for Grama Pages annual Labor Day bbq and Onion Days.  It was lots of fun as usual!  I think I have an exact picture like this of Callan and Grandpa last year on this chair!

The boys of course loved the carnival.  Man, it was hot!!!

I'm pretty sure this was a different day, but these cousins sure love each other!

On our way home from the carnival we decided to stop a few places to look at mattresses.  I've heard that Labor Day is the best day to buy one.  Tyson has a really bad back so I basically sent him into the stores to pick one out.  We found a great deal and love it!

Park City Take 2

We were so lucky to be able to go to Park City with both of our families!  We did different things each time so it was a lot of fun!  We went with the Cook family on Labor Day weekend.  We started out with Boating at Rockport Reservoir.  We haven't been on a boat in a long time!  The water was really low so there were muddy/sandy beaches everywhere.  We had to take turns on the beach since there were so many of us and the boys absolutely loved playing in the mud!

Disappearing Feet!

Easton did really well on the tube.  Mom was the one who finally had to tell Grandpa to stop the ride because it was giving me too much anxiety!

Ah nothing like a nap on the boat!
We stayed in a condo with everyone (eventually 2 condos when it got too crowded.)  Every morning the boys got to snuggle and watch cartoons.
Every night we took turns making dinner.  JD and Easton made some killer guacamole!
We went to the Olympic museum and watched the ski jumpers.  Entertaining as always!

We did lots of shopping and lots of playing!  Cassidy gave a great FHE lesson, we celebrated Katelin's birthday, and had a late night date playing Scotland Yard which was filled with exciting power outages.  The boys swam in the pool and hot tub.  It was a great vacation!

End of August

It's official.  I'm a once a month blogger.  I don't know how much longer I can keep this up!  This poor baby will be lucky to even get his picture taken, let alone posted!

Playing forts and cougars with dad never gets old!

Easton had a Wild Kratts party.  He wanted to invite all his friends over to watch Wild Kratts and eat popcorn.  I figured I could handle 30 minutes with the whole neighborhood over:)

Callan is still potty training.  This one time poop fell right out of is shorts and I stepped in it.  I screamed for Tyson to get a Clorox wipe and he took a picture.  Can't believe I'm posting this.

Aunt Kate provided us with tickets to the Aquarium.  The boys loved it!

The penguins were our favorite!

Otters!

We took one last trip to the Splash Pad the day before it closed.  The boys already can't wait til next summer!
