The Whole Fam-Damily

Another busy week has come and gone! Hopefully we're getting closer and closer to summer! (Although the 3 inches of snow and blizzard we woke up to this morning makes me think otherwise). We were able to go down to Payson with Tyson's family last night and everyone happened to show up so we decided to snap a family photo. (Except we forgot Hayden had to leave just a few minutes before! Sorry Hayden!)

Then we found some old antique wheels just sitting in the yard and decided to snap a few pictures with that. We wanted to wheel it out under the cherry trees, but it started to fall apart so we just took what we could get! Easton was not in the mood to be photographed!

Now its back to the grind for another busy week! Tyson is working A LOT more hours in the coming weeks because another technician is having a baby. I will miss him, but we are very grateful for those extra hours right now! He has to work really hard for a little while so we can play on all our summer vacations!

Ball!

So Easton went to his 18 month check up some time last week or the week before. I filled out the little survey about his social, verbal, motor skills, etc... The doctor said he's a just a little on the slow end as far as talking goes so we've been really trying to get him to use some words. He wasn't using any words except an occasional "eeeeease" when he really wanted some candy. That week he started saying "no." But it wasn't a a naughty "no", it was a really innocent "no" so it was cute. Then he started saying "ball." AND NOW THAT'S ALL HE SAYS! We've been joking that now we finally know what's been on his mind his whole life! Kelsey says he reminds her of the dogs on the movie "UP" that get distracted by squirrels and can't think about anything else! I tried to get a video of him saying no (hence all the dumb questions I'm asking him) but all he could think about was the ball that was in front of him! He does say no one time in the video.
Tonight we went on a little walk up the trail in Provo Canyon to pass the time and help Easton fall asleep. But we forgot the stroller:) So we carried Easton the whole time, but we still had a nice walk.

Also, I cut off all my hair yesterday. I decided on Thursday that I had HAD it. Tyson always wants me to try something different with my hair so I decided to surprise him. He was definitely surprised. I like it a lot more than I thought I would. It'll be fun for summer! And luckily my hair grows like a weed if I ever get sick of it. Tomorrow I will mail the 12 inches of hair that's sitting on my dresser into Locks of Love. I will be glad to get rid of it!

One Happy Mother

I had so much fun last week just being a mom! Not a student and not a pharmacy technician, just a mom. Me and Easton got to do a lot of fun stuff together during my break from school. And Tyson got to do a lot with us, too. We went to the library where Easton wanted to get every germ-filled book and take it over to the rocking chair to read.
We waited in line for the WinCo to open across the street from our apartment. It's so nice to have it right there, especially when you just have to run for milk or something! We got these ridiculously huge and delicious and probably steroid enhanced strawberries. You just can't understand how huge they were from the picture.
We went fishing and had a picnic at Utah Lake.
And lots of just hanging out. After that fun week my sweet little Easton turned into a 2 year old. He has been throwing tantrums and saying no all weekend. I don't know what happened.

Anyway, we had a good mothers day. We got to go down to Payson last night to celebrate. The men all planted Grandma Page's flowers and we had a KFC picnic. Tyson got me some backdrop paper to try taking pictures in front of which I'm very excited about. Today we got up and went to church, which didn't go as well as last week's sacrament meeting, but who cares? We get to drop him off at nursery and relax for 2 hours! We have a great nursery leader who slices bananas, strawberries, grapes, etc... for the kids every week and brings them individual sippy cups. She also made them home made brownies this morning in addition to the fruit.
After church Easton took a nap and we went up to my mom's. My sister, Collette, was babysitting her class parakeet for the weekend. I think its name was Bubbles. It wanted to fly from shoulder to shoulder and it sat on Easton for quite a while. He didn't really know what to think.
We had a nice dinner and hung out there for a while and headed home. We stopped to help someone change a tire on the freeway and ended up there for an hour and a half. But we're home now and ready for bed!
Happy Mothers Day!

I love Birthdays!

Today was such a good birthday! We got to sleep in until it was time to go to church (which isn't that late since church is at nine, but I'll take it). We got to church and were a little late so we sat in the back on the metal chairs which ended up being great because Easton has a whole bunch of magnets that he just sat quietly and played with on the metal chairs the whole time. This has never happened before. Maybe we're turning a new leaf. Then, since Easton's birthday is my half birthday (and vice versa) ... today was Easton's first day in nursery! He loved it! And we loved it! And his nursery leaders loved it! It was just a good thing all around. His leaders said he was sooooo good and they just loved him and that he ate a ton of grapes. (He seriously loves grapes.)

After church Easton took a 3 hour nap and I got so much stuff done and took a nap! It was so nice to not have any homework to worry about! Tyson has been so good to me. All day his answer to everything has been "sure, it's your birthday!" He made a delicious turkey dinner for us. My family has been in Idaho all weekend and just got home tonight. They have been calling me the birthday scrooge because all I wanted for my birthday was to stay home and do nothing for once! But, they guilted me into driving up there after all (plus Easton needed to get out of the house really bad by 6:00).

We opened presents.
My sister Kate made a delicious cake.

Easton played outside until he was an icicle.
And I got some fun stuff! Socks and wash cloths (which is what I asked for), chocolate caramel pretzels, The Proposal, and some scrapbooking things from my sisters, a book called "I am a Mother" and money from my parents, flip flops, a sweater, a dress, and some fabric for photo backgrounds from Tyson and Easton, and Kelsey always has very original gifts... There was this really old chair sitting at our work forever and one day I mentioned that I would like something like that to do pictures with. So when I got home from work on Friday, there was that very chair sitting in our living room! It had a note that said: "Happy Birthday! The present is the act of asking Mike (our boss) if I could have this chair. P.S. It is his mother's." So now I have my boss's mother's chair. And she also made me a grocery bag holder that is really cute!
I also got some money from Tyson's family and a gift card to Rodworks from Thomas and Amanda! Thanks everyone!
