Heavyweight

Callan had his 2 month checkup today and he weighs 9 pounds! He seems so huge to us - twice the size he was at the hospital. He's finally jumped into the 2nd percentile. He is now 20 and 1/2 inches - still in the 0%ile there. He's getting more alert all the time and is just growing and developing perfectly.

Now for the bad news... I had to call and make an appointment with a surgeon today. Callan is going to have to have his umbilical hernia fixed. The surgery will put his intestines back in place and build up the abdominal muscles with some synthetic mesh stuff. It's a little disappointing and annoying, but I've always been prepared for the worst with this one. After all he's been through in his short little life, this complication is tiny considering what we could be dealing with! We'll know more after I meet with the surgeon tomorrow.

Easton has been saying some hilarious stuff lately. When he gets mad about something he says he's going to get his bowling ball and bowl people over.

The hairdresser:
"I'm just gonna put my hat on so she can't cut my hair. And then I'm gonna get my bowling ball and bowl her over so she can't cut my hair."

Aunt Kelsey:
"I don't want Kels to drive home. I love it when she's out of her car. I'm just gonna get my bowling ball and bowl her car over so she can't drive home. Then we can play in the bushes."

Me:
"I don't want to go home! When we get home I'm just gonna run away from you back to aunties' home. Then I'm gonna get my bowling ball and bowl you over!"

You get the idea. Also today as we were driving to the doctor's office he noticed our neighbor's goats. He thinks all the animals around our house are ours and he gets a little bit upset when we tell him they're someone else's. From his carseat he said, "Mom, I need you to buy me a new sword at the store. (his broke) Because I think those goats really are someone else's and I need my sword so when they take them away I can say 'hey, wait up! Those are our goats!' "

Oh he cracks me up. There have been so many funny lines lately I can't remember them all. When he's getting a little too much to handle I usually sit him down with his play dough. He likes to pick out some kitchen utensils to play with.
The other day he came up to Tyson and said, "Dad! Look! I made a 'backet-ball!' " I can't believe he was able to use a circle to cut out a piece and textured it with the rice spatula and even made a line across. He just amazes me every day!

Cousins & Quilts

My Grandma Allen came down last week to have eye surgery and my Aunt Melani and her kids came too! We had a lot of fun. I think this is the first time my family has come to visit and I've just been able to enjoy the time with them - living close by and with no work. We went to the Bean Museum at BYU.
Easton and Deryk had fun playing together.

There was a lot of baby passing.

Maycee
Deryk
Grandma Cook
And there was a lot of piano playing, singing, and dancing.
My grandma made Callan this beautiful quilt! I love how Callan looks so happy about his quilt in this picture:)
I can't believe she quilted the whole thing by herself!

I wanted to also post pictures of Easton's baby quilt because I'm not sure if I ever did.

Thanks Grandma! I love them!
Here's a random picture of Callan. He's getting some arm and leg fat!

Living Planet Aquarium

We went to the Living Planet Aquarium last Saturday to get out of the house for a while. Since my kids are free I got myself a membership so if anyone needs someone to go with...call me! When I was little I went to an aquarium in Colorado that was huge! So I was a little disappointed in this one, but Tyson had never been to an aquarium so he thought this one was so nice! I guess it's all about perspective!

Easton was not going to get anywhere near those sting rays.
His very favorite exhibit was the sharks and huge sea turtle. I think he would have stood there all day.

This pic is from a different day, but I think it's so funny! He was being out of control wild at my parents' house so we brought him home and expected a bedtime fight. He went straight to his room, got his hat and gloves, and just sat there on the couch with us while we watched How I Met Your Mother. He never lets us watch TV unless it's sprout so this was so weird!
And so cute:)
