Easton's favorite book as of late is called, "Chicken Cheeks." I saw it on the shelf at the library and thought it might be cute. When I thumbed through it and saw illustrations similar to this one with captions such as "turkey tushie" and "penguin patootie" my first reaction was to hurry and put it back on the shelf as fast as I could. Then I remembered that I am a mother of silly boys and I had to have it. It was an immediate success and now we can't go a day without mentioning it.
Easton also loves Dr. Seuss books. Especially "The Cat in the Hat." He loves to pick out the differences between the book and the TV show. When I read the books, I still say Sally and "Nick" rather than "Dick." Whose idea was that? The TV show got it right on that one.
I think one reason why he loves Dr. Seuss is that Easton is a constant rhymer. He loves to make up silly words and then rhymes 25 other words to go along with it.
Last week Aunt Kelsey took Easton to see "Seussical the Musical" at her school. He loved it and sang the songs for days. Apparently on the way to the show Easton was giving them all a good laugh with his jokes.
"What do you get when you put a crocodile and a hen in the blender?"
"Croco-doodle-poop."
Of course. Why didn't I think of that?
