Weekend Get-Away

We had another fun weekend. My parents had a gift card to the Zermatt Resort in Midway that was going to expire soon so they asked if we wanted to use it for an early anniversary get-away. Well Easton hasn't been sleeping very well for about a month now. He's been up every hour at least once after 2:00. He also wakes up at exactly 6:00 every morning. So we REALLY needed a good night's sleep. I took Easton to the Dr. before we left just to make sure he didn't have an ear infection or something, but he was perfectly healthy. He weighs 21 pounds! Anyway, my poor mom was up with him every hour just like at home. It was hard to leave him but we were so grateful for a chance to sleep!
We had been laying out at the pool right before this picture but only lasted 20 minutes because it was so hot!
After we got home and picked up Easton we had game night at a ranch in Springville canyon where Casey works. We played a game called Pictionary Man which was just like pictionary but you draw on this little man made out of dry erase board. It was really fun. Here is Savannah drawing and Dan, Ben Lundell, Ben Ewell, and Casey guessing.
Easton came and played with Ace. He had a lot of fun. All the floors were tiled and he crawls really funny on hard floors. He hates to hurt his knees so he crawls on one foot and one knee.
Now when I say ranch I really mean a mansion for horses. They train quarter horses there I guess. Not sure exactly what that means but Easton loved the horses. He kept laughing at them but it was a really nervous laugh.
Casey wanted to show us how he'd been practicing cutting with the horses. Again, I'm not sure what exactly this means, but he was having the horse chase a stuffed cow and Tyson decided he would like to be the stuffed cow.

I looked out the window and what did I see?

First of all (this part has nothing to do with looking out the window), Tyson has been studying night and day this week preparing for his chemistry 2 test. He has worked so hard on school this summer. It took him 2 and 1/2 hours to finish 25 problems, but he got and A-! I am so proud of him! It's nice to finally see his grades reflect his hard work.

Anyway, after that he went to work and Easton and I spent the day at home. Around 4 the power went out and was out for over an hour. I thought it was strange that it had been out for so long from just a wind storm and I started to worry about or freezer thawing (I later learned that freezers stay frozen for days, so not to worry). Anyway, Tyson got home from work and we went to visit Grandpa Page in the hospital who just had a total knee replacement. We visited with him for a while and were happy to find him recovering pretty well.

We drove home from the hospital and as we turned around our little corner to get to our driveway, this is what we found...

Apparently it was sort of our fault the power had been out for so long. They pretty much cut back our trees to nothing. We'll be cranking up the fans for the rest of our summer since our shade is gone! And now when I look out the window I will see trees on the ground. Until Monday. Lovely.

So Much Fun Stuff!

We have been so busy lately! So we're trying to take advantage of every summer moment we can! Last weekend we got to go boating at Utah Lake with Tyson's family and Casey, Kristi, and Ace.

Ace and Easton loved playing together! Except Easton kept trying to kiss Ace and Ace wasn't having it.

They shared lots of grahams with each other.

Then last night we went camping up Spanish Fork Canyon. We found a perfect little spot that was away from all the other people. Tyson bought a dutch oven and cooked us a really yummy dinner! We were sad lots of our friends couldn't come, but glad Shawn and Jana made it for the camp fire!
We brought Easton's playpen for him to sit in while we set everything up.
He LOVED just being outside and eating grass.
We borrowed Hayden's truck since we no longer have a truck to use our truck tent on. We love that little tent.
Easton loved the tent too. He slept great!
We all had so much fun camping! The weather was great and it was so relaxing! Now we're just waiting for the fireworks to start!
